Power Steering

Still Under Construction!

This is how the final power steering assembly looks. I am happy with myself. Now onto the brake pump assembly...:-)

I read somewhere that the D4 position on the fuse box in the driver side footwell is unused and a place where we can source the '12V switched' i.e. 12V supply that switched on only when the key is turned. Cut the plastic of the fuse box, a flexible 10AWG wire and done...

A better view of the relay. I used the (unused) ground connection to mount the relay and get the GND connection for the circuit.

Used a 80A resettable fuse, 80A automotive relay and wired the power steering pump electrical circuit. Will also post a circuit diagram when I get a chance...

Am using the stock cable harnesses to hold the power steering lines in place.

Rack side fittings and PS lines fitted. I am going to change the Allen-head bolt to standard hex head bolt (grade 10). This bolt is a M10 1.5 and about 3/4" long.

The rack side fittings ready. Cut of the black lines from the original fittings. The fittings are brass so had the welder TIG-weld 1/4" NPT Male to 6AN Male fittings to the. Vola, the result!
